This week in Falcon class….

  • In Literacy this week we have been reading the story ‘Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted.’ We talked about where she lived and made a map of the different locations on the island. We then described what the island was like during the thunderstorm.
  • In Maths this week we have been practising our addition skills. We added small groups of objects together and recorded our work in a number sentence. We also tried to find all of the different ways to make ten e.g. 1+9, 2+8, 3+7 etc.
  • In our Topic work this week we have been thinking about different sources of light. We painted a picture of a light source and tried to figure out if it was natural or man-made. On Monday we took part in some maths-based activities as part of World Maths Day and we also watched lots of fantastic experiments during the ‘Mad Science’ assembly.

Thank you to all of the parents who attended World Maths Day – we had lots of fun!
