In
Literacy this week we read the story ‘The Rainbow Fish.’ We talked about the
character of the fish, and how it changed over the course of the story. We
created our own books about the Rainbow Fish, thinking carefully about what the
fish had learned during the story.

In
Maths this week we have been busy working with money. We looked at a variety of
different coins, and had a go at buying two different objects. We tried to work
out how much the objects cost altogether in our heads, and then used 1p coins
to check our answers.

In
our Topic work this week we have been thinking about the sea. We talked about
how seaside holidays have changed over time, and compared holidays from the
past to the present day. In Art, we painted and decorated our own rainbow fish,
which will look fantastic on our class display. On Thursday, we took it in
turns to jump over ‘Peter the Cockerel’, which is an old village tradition.
A quick apology if anything was missing from book-bags on Friday - Mrs Dewey and I were both at home ill. We will make sure that everything gets sorted on Monday.
