Fabulous eggs
Thank you to everyone who took part in our Easter egg decorating competition. They looked absolutely fantastic!
This week in Falcon Class...
- This week
has been a very short but busy week in Falcon Class. In Literacy we have
been learning about Easter, why it is celebrated and why we enjoy Easter
eggs at this time of year.
- In Maths
we have been continuing our work on time, and had a go at reading a clock
to the hour, and talking about what time different daily events happen.
- In our Topic work we have also been busy making an Easter nest, complete with baby chick, as well as practising our song for the Music Festival. We also had a go at making some chocolate eggs (thank you Max!) and went on an Easter egg hunt in our outdoor area.
A big thank you to everyone who brought in
a decorated egg. They all looked brilliant and we had lots of fun looking at
the different designs.
Mrs Dewey and I would like to wish everyone
a lovely Easter! We hope you enjoy it.

This week in Falcon class….
- In Literacy this week we have been producing a piece of independent writing. We have written a set of instructions explaining how to wash our hands. We have also been very busy learning a poem for our class assembly.
- In Numeracy
this week we have re-visited our work on shape, checking which shapes we
were able to recognise, and whether we could explain their different
properties e.g. the number of sides, corners etc.
- In our Topic work this week we have been very busy being super scientists as part of ‘Science Week.’ We took part in three different activities across the week, including making and testing parachutes, investigating rafts and exploring the Antarctic. We have also been busy practising for our Class Assembly.
A big thank you to everyone who came to our
Class Assembly. We enjoyed it and we hope you did to!
To celebrate Easter, Falcon Class will be
holding an egg decorating competition. To take part, the children will need to
bring in their decorated egg by Tuesday.
Good luck!

This week in Falcon Class...
·
In
Literacy this week we have been learning how to write instructions. We talked
about why we need instructions, and then followed some instructions to help us
make – and eat! - Angel Delight. We then sequenced the instructions using
photographs, and wrote a different instruction for each image.
·
In
Numeracy this week we have begun to think about time. We thought about the different events in our
day, and talked about our daily routine. We also started to think about how
long it took to do different tasks, and timed ourselves by counting aloud, and
using sand timers and stopwatches.
·
In
our Topic work this week we have been thinking about different feelings, and
how we can tell how someone is feeling by looking at their facial expression.
We collaged some people portraying the emotions of happiness, sadness, anger and
excitement.
