This week in Falcon Class...

  • In Literacy this week we have been thinking about where we go to school. We talked about the village and made a mind-map of all of the places in Caythorpe. We then chose one of those places and created an information page about them - we are going to put the pages together to make a visitor’s guide to Caythorpe.
  • In Maths this week we have been learning about shape. We looked at the properties of 2D shapes (how many sides and corners they have) and then had a go at making some shapes of our own using straws or play dough.
  • In our Topic work this week we have begun a new science topic of ‘light and dark.’ We went on a light hunt around school, looking for as many light sources as possible. We have also been thinking about different places that we have visited and we painted a picture of our favourite location.
Congratulations to Falcon Class who is this week's 'Class of the week!'
Well done everyone! :)

Class of the week!

This week in Falcon Class...

·        In Literacy this week we have been making an information page about castles. We talked about everything that we had learned about castles and then wrote a few facts about them.
·        In maths this week we have been working on our number formation, using finger paints to write numbers up to 20. We have also been trying to find the missing numbers in a sequence.
·        In our topic work this week we have been busy painting and decorating our model shields, basing our designs on the shields we saw at Tattershall Castle. On Thursday we also took part in a whole-school cross country activity and everyone did really well.

Shields

This week we decorated our own shields, based on the shields that we saw at Tattershall Castle. Take a look at our work!
