In
Literacy this week we read the story ‘George and the dragon’, about a dragon
that was scared of a mouse named George. We talked about how the different
characters were feeling in the story and then wrote a letter to the dragon on
behalf of George, apologising for scaring him.

In
Maths this week we have been thinking about position and direction. We went
outside and took part in some races, using the words ‘forwards’, ‘backwards’,
‘left’ and ‘right’ to describe what we were doing. We also had a go at using
the Bee-bots, programming them to make them travel across the classroom.

In
our Topic work this week we talked about the different people who lived in a
castle, such as lords and ladies, servants, knights and soldiers. We also
looked at how houses have changed over the years and talked about the
differences between our homes and a castle. We also began making a whole-class
collage of a knight, dragon and castle for our upcoming class display.
Show and Tell – Friday 24th January - Lilly, Zach, Oliver, Bella, Nancy and
