This week in Falcon Class...

·        In Literacy this week we have been thinking about our trip to Tattershall Castle. We talked about what we were looking forward to on the trip and then wrote a description of what we got up to when we were there.
·        In Maths this week we have been thinking about our daily routine. We talked about the days of the week and then had a go at ordering the different events in the day.
·        In our Topic work this week we have been busy designing and making a model castle using cardboard boxes. On Wednesday we went to Tattershall Castle and had a great time dressing up in different costumes and playing with lots of different toys from years gone by. We also went on a tour of the castle and learned lots of interesting facts.

This week in Falcon class….

·         In Literacy this week we have been thinking about instructions. We made some jelly using moulds shaped like castles and shields and left it overnight to set. We ate it the next day and then wrote some instructions explaining how to make it.
·         In Maths this week we have been learning how to estimate. We looked at different groups of objects and tried to estimate how many we could see. We then counted the objects to check if our estimates were correct.

·         In our Topic work this week we thought about the different features of a castle and what they were used for. We then labelled a picture of a castle, naming the different parts. On Wednesday we took part in a wedding celebration at the church. We also looked at the different objects in the church and had a go at making some stained glass windows when we got back. We also had a little party to celebrate the marriage at the end of the day.
