This week in Falcon Class...

·        In Literacy we have been reading the story ‘The ugly duckling.’ We talked about how the duckling felt during the story and had a go at writing some words to describe his feelings.
·        In Maths we have been working on sorting objects in different ways, such as by colour and type. We then had a go at making some patterns using different coloured objects.
·        In our Topic work we have been thinking about how to make new colours when painting. We also visited the ICT suite for the first time and had a go at playing some games to help us with our phonics. We also had lots of fun tasting different fruits as part of our work on how to stay healthy.

Mrs Dewey and I wish everyone a lovely half-term. See you in a week!

Show and Tell – Friday 1st November - Lilly, Zach, Oliver, Bella, Nancy and Alexis

Fantastic Maths

In Maths this week we have been busy sorting objects into different groups and working out which groups have more or less objects in them. We have also been making patterns using different coloured objects.

Fruit Tasting

This term we have been thinking about how to stay healthy. On Wednesday we tried lots of different fruits - some of which we liked, some of which we didn't!

This week in Falcon Class...

·    In Literacy we have been writing about our visit from ZooLab. We drew pictures of the different creatures that came to see us and then had a go at labelling them using our phonics sounds.
·    In Maths we have been working on our number formation, trying to write numbers 1-10 and making sure the numbers are written correctly.
·   In our Topic work we have been thinking about our school environment and where our favourite parts of the school are. We took a photograph of our favourite place and wrote a caption explaining why we liked it. We have also been putting the finishing touches to our Harvest song and we had a go at sorting healthy and unhealthy food into groups. We also had a great time when ZooLab came to visit, and we were lucky enough to get to hold some of the different creatures.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Harvest Festival – we hope you enjoyed the song!

Show and Tell – Thursday 17th October - Hannah, Sophie, Theo, Beatrice, Imogen and Lucy.
