In
Literacy this week we read the story ‘Lost and Found, about a boy and a penguin
who travelled to the South Pole. We talked about where the story took place,
and painted a picture of the setting. We then watched a clip of the film
version of the story, and had a go at writing a description of the storm.

In
Numeracy this week we have been gathering information from each other, such as
our favourite colour or animal, and recording it in a tally chart. We have also
had a go at displaying the information in a pictogram.

In
our Topic work this week we have been learning about the South Pole. We looked
at some photographs of the South Pole, and thought about what we would need to
take with us if we were to take a trip there. We also learned about the
explorer Robert Falcon Scott, and his trip to the Antarctic. We had a go at
acting out his journey, before learning about the different reasons that he
didn’t win the race to the South Pole.
