In
Literacy this week we have been learning about Grace Darling, and her rescue of
several sailors from a storm in 1838, after spotting them from her
lighthouse. We made a mind-map of
everything that we had found out about her, and later wrote a sentence or two
about her bravery.

In
Numeracy this week we have been learning words to describe position, such as
next to, in between, behind, underneath etc. We also talked about words to
describe direction, and used them to guide each other around e.g. forwards, backwards etc.

In
our Topic work this week we have been thinking about Lent, and the reasons why
we celebrate ‘Pancake Day.’ We talked about our favourite pancake toppings, and
had a lot of fun taking part in the pancake race. We have also been busy making
a model lighthouse, using cardboard, newspaper, glue and paint.
Enjoy half-term! J
