In
Literacy this week we have been reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise.’ We had a
go at acting out the story, and then wrote a list of the different fruits that
Handa took to her friend. We also talked about where the story took place, and
how it was different from England.

In
Numeracy this week we have been working on our subtraction skills. We talked
about how to find ‘one less’ using different objects, and then moved on to
taking away small groups of objects from each other.

In
our Topic work this week we have been learning about Africa,
in particular the different animals that live there. We also began some artwork
based on African animals that we will put on our class display.
On Friday we celebrated ‘National Breakfast Week’
and tried a variety of different toast toppings, including jam, cheese and
chocolate spread. We also shared our breakfast diaries that we have been
filling in this week, and talked about the importance of eating breakfast
everyday.
