· In
Literacy this week we have been reading the traditional tale ‘Goldilocks’. We
have had a go at acting out the story using role play masks, and we talked
about the different characters in the story. We drew a picture of one of the
characters, and had a go at writing some words to describe them.
· In
Numeracy this week we have been continuing our work on measure. We have been
learning about weight, comparing the weight of different objects using balance
scales. We have also been thinking about capacity, filling different sized
containers with sand or water, and using the terms ‘full’ and ‘empty’ to
describe them.
· In
our Topic work this week we have been painting pictures of the different
characters from Goldilocks. We also performed an experiment, trying to find out
how to make the perfect porridge for Goldilocks; one bowl was too thick, one
bowl was too runny, and one bowl was just right! We have also been learning
about the seasons of the year, and how they are different from each other. On
Thursday we had a whole-school ICT Day, where we learned all about how to be
safe when using ICT. We also had lots of fun using Bee-bots, cameras, listening
equipment and different recording devices. We also played some phonics games in
the ICT suite.
