This week in Falcon class….

In Literacy this week we have been reading the story ‘Owl Babies.’ We have talked about the different characters in the story, and how they felt at different times in the story. We also drew pictures of the setting of the story.
In Numeracy this week we have been making sure we are counting correctly, putting the objects in a line to make sure we don’t miss any out. We have also been using the terms ‘more’ and ‘less.’
In our Topic work this week we have been learning how to use the camera, taking pictures and videos of each other. We have also been learning about the habitats of birds, and made some birds nests using materials we found in our outdoor area. We then left them outside to see what might happen overnight.

Building some nests....

This week we have been learning about habitats, and we had a go at building our own nests using materials we found in our outdoor area. They looked so fantastic, that we decided to leave them outside overnight to see if they might tempts some birds!

In the morning we went to check on the nests to see if anything had happened. Guess what we found... three tiny eggs!

This week in Falcon Class...

In Literacy this week we have been thinking about ourselves, and how we have changed since we were babies. We have thought about the different things we have learned to do, such as riding our bikes, learning to swim etc.
In Numeracy this week we have been working on counting objects securely, remembering to use our finger to point to each object when we count. We have also made our own number cards to support us in our learning.
In our Topic work this week we have been thinking about which foods are good for us, such as fruit and vegetables, and which food isn’t so good, such as sweets! We have also been experimenting with different coloured paints, finding out what happens when you mix different colours together. We have also been busy getting very messy with corn flour. We have also really enjoyed doing some washing!

This week in Falcon class….

·  In Literacy this week we have been talking about our families and the different things we like to do in school. We then had a go at making our own shields, writing our names and ages, and drawing pictures of our families and our favourite activities.
· In Numeracy this week we have been working on recognising numbers 1-10 and putting them in the correct order. We have also been singing number songs and rhymes.
·   In our Topic work this week we have been busy painting portraits of ourselves. We have also enjoyed our first PE lessons where we played lots of different games. We have also been thinking about the different feelings we have, and times when we have felt happy and sad. We have also had great fun playing in our outdoor area, particularly the digging area!
